How can a scuff on a back bumper on a black car be repaired? The scratches are hairlines marks but you can just about feel it with your nails very lightly, its over an area the size of a hand. Not sure what to use, T-Cut, Turtle Wax Magic, Rubbing Compound? I have no idea what to use as these products seem to be for the main body of the car and I am worried about using something abrasive and making it worse.

Little touch up paint and brush, Like a nail varnish brush.

Clean the scratch and fill it very slowly with a very small amount of paint, Let it set then repeat so you build up a thin layer each time.

Then a bit of T Cut to polish it flat.

If this sort of thing is not for you then get one the smart repair companies to do it for you.

    Hi,

Thanks for responding, can you recommend any black touch up paint? I was thinking of using ScratchX 2.0 as it seems to have good reviews. It's a plastic bumper, the scratches are very very fine, it will be tricky to paint it.

No idea what scratch x is. If its like the colour based polish they used to sell then i dont like it.

I had to touch up the paint on a car that had been treated with this stuff and it was terrible. Had to strip it back to metal and paint it completely from scratch.

Try scratch X 2.0 first, its the dogs wobbly bits! If that doesn't work I would try Farecla G10. If all else fails you could try Farecla G3 however sometimes it can leave a sanding mark and you would have to polish it up with a product like Mer before applying wax (if your not happy with the finish post Mer apply scratch X then Mer again). If none of this works its bodyshop time.
