Funeral flowers, how much to put in?

I think a fiver would be appropriate. for a street collection anyway.
in my street it was common for a collection when a resident passed away - but its very rare now! Ive lived here about 35 years and dont know most of the neighbours so when asked for a donation, unless I knew the person only put in a pound or so.0 -
I'd say up to a fiver but if that is too much just put in what you can afford. If the whole street is chipping there will easily be enough for some nice flowers. When my mum died the street she lived on also had a collection as she was well thought of, I gave part of the money to a charity my mum support the rest went to buy a tree of remembrance for her as I thought it was something more lasting and my mum would have like that. I've no idea to this day what any individual put into the collection and frankly I didn't care if they'd put 50p or £10 I was just touch that they wanted to remember my mum in that way.
