Currys 6 year old monthly cover

Hello, I think I've got the right forum section, I've looked for similar questions and they led me here.

A number of years ago I bought a computer monitor/TV from Currys. It may have been six or seven years ago. I'd asked for extra cover should anything go wrong with it as it was just over a pound per month, plus the monitor I bought was the display one which was all they had left so I thought it'd be best to cover it.

I still have the monitor and use it occasionally and I still have the cover being taken out of my account. I know they don't make or sell the same monitor anymore or anything like it.

My question is, am I still covered as long I keep paying? Should I stop the payments now as it it'll practically be useless? I don't have any paperwork to go with it as I've moved house a number of times. Or should I just go and ask in Currys?

Go in-store and ask (or call up).

They will have all the records to confirm the details etc but as a general rule - if your still paying, your still covered.

They may not make or sell the monitor - but that's not your concern. If they can't repair / exchange it (depends on the agreement you have - I'd imagine yours will be a repair), they'll offer you vouchers for a replacement.
Nothing I say represents any past, present or future employer.

What Jakg says is correct, you can either go in store who can print off a copy of your receipt (so long as you remember the postcode of the address you gave when you purchased it) or you can phone up and they can trace from the Direct Debit No on your bank account.

If it goes wrong or something happens with it, it will either be repaired, or if unable to be repaired a voucher No will be sent to you (or recallable on the system) for at least the same amount as a monitor that at least matches your monitor spec for spec.
  • Thanks for the help! I shall do just that.
