  • Sorry Katy. Hopefully it's just a shy one rather than AF being a d*ck... :)

Just bought some preseed (it came with applicators so that seemed more covert...) and on Claire's recommendation some low sensitivity ovulation tests to stop the 5 days of positive OPKs! Can already feel the optimism rising in me which is ludicrous... It's like I can only function when I have a plan. I've been trying femoral massage still this cycle so it will be interesting to see if it has an effect on AF when that comes around again.

Tea what's a femoral massage and how does it work for ttc?

Got sick of DH not taking his bog standard multivitamins so he's now got zinc and selenium separately and I've threaten to pop them in when he's snoring if he doesn't take them voluntarily lol x

  • Sorry if TMI everyone!

TeamLowe I've noticed over the years of TTC that my previously 5 day medium/ heavy flow AF has reduced down to spotting/ very light flow and what looks like old blood- I rarely get 'red' flow and I'm finding a light flow tampon is more than enough- could probably do with a lower absorbancy. I also don't get any clots anymore. It made me worry that maybe, for some reason, my lining is simply too thin for anything to implant into...

Anyhoo. I googled it (as all crazy TTCers do...) and saw a few sites where women have used femoral massage to improve their lining. Thought it'd be worth a try. Basically 3 times a day (I do it all in one session before I get up) you cut off your femoral artery on each side of your groin (one side at a time) for between 30-45 seconds. This video explains it better http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RBhifKPeqg0 . I use a vaseline tin rather than a tennis ball to occlude the artery and I lie on my back as though someone is doing it for me... Once you watch the video that will make sense... :)

I have no idea if it'll work but if it improves my AF then I'll carry on doing it- I'll post how I find it when CD1 comes at the end of March-ish. You only do it in your follicular phase as you don't want to disrupt implantation...

My OH has gone on vitamin strike too- he's up the wall waiting for the SA results and is very down in general about TTC at the moment as he thinks he's infertile and that vits won't make a blind bit of difference.
  • Oh, this cycle I have also given up caffeine... I'm only just starting to feel normal- gave it up on CD5- as I usually drink at least 10 cups of black tea a day. There's so much conflicting evidence about caffeine making a difference but I thought I'd give it a go seeing as it's literally the only vice I have and TTC has taken everything else away from me... :o

There's some fabulous stories on the fertilityfriends.co.UK site about how vitamins improved things...one couple were told they'd need donor sperm but after vitamins they had successful icsi

The femoral massage sounds proper mental but if it works it works lol

I keep thinking I need to cut down caffeine but I don't want to give up Pepsi max! Lol I figure the recommended limit in pregnancy is 200mg so I'll stick to that. Does mean Starbucks is well naughty as freshly brewed coffee is 300mg.

    ...

At least being pregnant once excuses my knowledge. I read so much in that short, happy, beautiful time x

Still feeling like poo, but at least I'm not back at work till Tuesday afternoon. Though dreading going as am really stressed out about an ongoing situation there at moment and it'll come to a head on Tuesday.

Spent the whole day feeling like crying, because I feel so ill, DH has been great though, although he did admit to being a bit bored looking after me earlier!

No period symptoms yet, which is a bit weird as usually have sore boobs by now, but I often notice if I've been ill AF is late showing up, so sure she's on her way.

Hugs to everyone who needs or wants one xx
  • Fingers crossed your knowledge comes in useful again soon! At least you've had a reason to accrue facts- I'm just a mentalist!...

TBH the femoral massage is pretty mental but I've got to the stage where I'm utterly desperate and would probably try anything if I thought it might for the first time ever get me a BFP. It also feels quite nice when you let the blood go again as you can feel it streaking down your leg towards your foot and it feels really hot... It's somewhat soothing! :o

I've tried coaxing him with success stories but he's beyond my help at the moment- he just wants the appointment to come. Luckily there's only 2 more weeks to wait. He's also feeling guilty about me having the HSG tomorrow as he thinks they should wait to rule him out before I have more intrusive tests. Because he's convinced himself that he's 'the problem' it's really difficult to reason with him at the moment.

OK I'm scared by the femoral massage!!

    Katy - hugs

Hugs for everyone on CD1 xxxx

Abis - love your work! What did you make the signs out of? That moon is lovely.

Becca, can you put me as CD2 please?

Have to decide now if I want to TTC and have a winter baby and risk PND/being suicidal, or take three more months off. Feels like all I do is stop and start!

If I did wait I might get onto the next CB trial, but maybe I should just go for it? I want a baby so much but I also want to be sane when I have one!

Got loads of assignments and stuff to do so can't hang around tonight - three assignments to wrote, one article to write, one article to add to and finish off and one to edit. Obviously not going to get that all done tonight! But need to tick some of it off my list asap.

I've also given up the caffeine, well cut it down to one can of my beloved Pepsi max a day. Beware, though. Yesterday we'd run out of juice and I had 3 cans and was up all bleedin night. This is the girl who used to have about 500mg of caffeine per day and still sleep soundly. A couple of months ago my body just took against it for some reason and I got really anxious and ratty.

DH has given in and said we can get a furbaby. Yay.
