Bit Confused About Housing Benefit

I have recently moved, as private tenant, to a new house(I was previously in receipt of ESA/HB/CTB). Do I have to fill in a standard Housing Benefit form and send it off to the local council? The new council's web site seemed to suggest that Jobcentre Plus(once I notified them of my new address) would contact the council who in turn would contact me about HB/CTB.

I'm confused, do I contact the council or will the council contact me after Jobcentre Plus notify them?

dont rely on DWP to do this, ask your council for a change of circumstances form to be on the safe side

I've notified my old local council of a change in circumstances(that I've moved).

So you're basically saying I should contact my new council directly and not wait for them to be prodded into action by Jobcentre Plus(might this not confuse them a bit)?

yes, id suggest you contact your new council.

the job centre may contact your new council or they may not.
rather than crossing my fingers and 'hoping' they do. i'd be sure that my claim was going through and not sitting back and waiting for the poo to hit the fan
