This is a real good news bad news good news etc etc story.

I bought a coffee maker by siemens 3 years ago :)
Its really very good, as it should be for £950.
It broke down last week :(
It was covered by a 5 year paid for warranty/insurance:)
Bought from the deceased comet :(
But they are honouring these "extra care service plans" :)
So i called the number and they said they would collect it Friday but couldnt say exactly when :)
But no-one turned up:(
So i called, and the people blamed their repairing co, who said they would be out today:)
But no-one turned up:(
So - 2 days of pay down (self employed),

1, Is this 2nd day consequential loss ?
2, Can i claim it from the company providing the plan - which isnt Comet the people who sold it to me originally ?

Thank you all for your help !

    I'd say yes & yes.

But, life will be easier if you have written proof of the appointments & non collection.

If you don't already have that then before storming in to get compensation I'd be inclined to write a gentle complaint letter in the hope that you'll get an answer apologising for not turning up on 1/2/13 & 4/2/13 which will give you the documentation you need.

It seems a bit harsh claiming compensation for consequential loss off a company who are prepared to honour a care plan they don't have to.

This. Siemens could decide they don't want to honour the agreement.

uhhh Comet aren't honouring it, the insurance company that back the warranties are.

Siemens have got nothing to do with the extended warranty that the OP bought with the item.
