Hiya. I had a stroke at the beginning of December. Luckily I survived and am not physically diabled. I am currently on sick leave from work, I have life Insurance with Scottish Widows. Does anyone know if I can claim any money, or whether I have to let them know i have been ill at all?.. thanks,

I can't answer your question on whether you can claim any money, but usually when you have a critical illness or income protection policy, it is wise to notify the insurer asap if you are going to be unable to work for a while due to illness.
Some policies will have it as a condition that they must be notified within a certain period of time and others may have a qualifying period of sickness/redundancy before making any payments due under a policy. If your policy is just a life policy, then it will not cover you for periods when you are unable to work.
Anyway, I wish you a speedy recovery. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0
