Yodel!

Back in December I had the misfortune of receiving a package delivered by yodel.
The damaged package was left outside our property, leant against the cat flap, in full view of the road and no card was put through the door. This despite someone being in all day. On inspecting our house we discovered that our poor cats had become so desperate that they had urinated on our duvet. I complained to Yodel the next day, who sent me the "thanks we will get back to you" email.
4 weeks later I emailed them and asked how the investigation was going, the driver came round and took a photo of the cat flap and then rudeley asked how a duvet could cost £100, he then went away.
Today I received a letter informing me that my claim had been rejected as the cat flap had not been broken by the driver.
Any tips on how to word the reply, and where to go legally, the duvet is stained and still has a cat urine aroma
Thanks

didnt the cats make you aware they needed out?
I dont know if its worth going a legal route
you should be complaining to the sender with their choice of courier0 -
Thankfully The Book People have been very helpful and have refunded the cost of the duvet, and will pursue Yodel for the costs.
Very good service from The Book People, won't be using Yodel again, making a point of asking each company who they deliver with, most things you can buy from several companies if they give the wrong answer0 -
Yodel is an awful service company. Over time complaints will eventually lead to change if retailers drop them.0

I'm still intrigued how someone was in all day, but didn't notice the cats weren't going out.
Care to explain?0 -
Why don't your cats have an emergency litter tray?Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

We had a yodel card yesterday. No parcel expected as we always use an office address for deliveries. We do have issues with postmen and delivery drivers who can't read numbers on addresses and leave next door's mail for us due to how the houses are numbered.
I called their enquiry line and checked online to check it was for us, but as the number on their printed card is not recognised on their systems I can go no further with an enquiry. It just puts me in a 'please re enter the number' loop.
What a competely useless system.0 -
Wait.. they compensated you because you didn't notice the cats wanting to go out, and that you don't have a litter tray?0

I agree. It sounds like quite bad service from Yodel, but if somebody was in all day then surely they would be responsible for not letting the cats out. If the cats know they are supposed to go to the toilet outside surely they would have made a point about the fact that the catflap wasn't working.0
