Martin Lewis, the champion of the people.
In one quick swoop he nulifies what this waster government (they are all wasters) has been prattling on about, to sort out all the confusing complicated different fuel tariffs.
Thank you Martin.

This looks to be a great idea. I've just registered, but, after having entered my Kwh usage for both gas and electricity in the sign up page, taking the figures from the eOn website for my account it shows 580kWh gas for 2012 and electricity as 174kWh for 2012. when I finished entering my details it shows me a comparison based on my annual payments for gas and electricity as £87.36. My monthly direct debit to eOn is £133.00. Is it me getting it wrong or has anybody else seen a similar problem?0

Not so fast.............
I input the monthly spend for my gas and electricity meter as £120 and £80 respectively. I was told that if I switched, my new annual spend would be £1821 per annum (a saving of £579 per annum).
I then thought that if I did switch, I would want to get rid of my meters, and did a comparison of what my current provider would offer (£80pm and £40pm respectively). Again, I was told that a saving could be made, and that my annual spend would be £678.
So, dependant on what figures you input, will depend on what figures are provided at the end. To me, this does not make any sense, and goes somewhat to prove that all is not as it seems!:(0 -

Better to use annual consumption figures rather than a one off month which might either be a winter or summer figure and therefore either high or low. Even if you multiply those kWh figures by 12 they are still pretty frugal - depends obviously on your property insulation and size.Adventure before Dementia!0 -
Call me cynical, but I just wonder how much this will make for MSE.0

I don't know, but Martin hopes to have pocketed £87million for MSE.;)
(which I understand some of which will be shared with a few others of his choosing - like the rest of the team and a charity donation)
But isn't this site all about how much you can save yourself ???0 -

The site is generally very good and IS all about how much you can save. But when the figures dont tie up, doubt sets in. Made up figures are no good to anyone, because they lead to made up savings!0
