Housekeeping, do you have children?
Clothing, that's excessive IMO but the chances of them actually being bothered to reduce one expense, is small enough to risk it.
You need to put ALL of YOUR income down, whether you think it's useable or not. If you wife gets it, she actually receives it, then don't put that down under your income.
Who gets DLA and CTC?:: BCSC #71 but now discharged! ::0 -
Ok, when is your hearing? Are you going to have time to actually change it over before then? I'd be wary of changing anything that might affect your income before BR personally. Never can be too sure how an OR might view it.:: BCSC #71 but now discharged! ::0

But it's still income and if you receive it, you NEED to include it. If it's not useable (which btw, I don't actually know for sure) then it won't matter if it's on yours or hers.
If I were you, and infact, I'm going BR on the 10th and I get CTC, I would include it on yours as you do receive it. I will be including it on my forms. And CHB, IB and DLA.:: BCSC #71 but now discharged! ::0 -
Evening Blind...how's things? I think the SoA seems fine. Bakey's right about including the CTC, and in the grand scheme of things I don't think it will make any difference to anything.
Have you decided on a date yet?
I've been very naughty and been out to the pub with my OH and the kids (not a virtual pub either) and we even bought some drinks. So it's baked beans for the rest of the week now.:rotfl:0 -
I see what you are saying but by the very fact your bank statements will show you were receiving CTC up until recently, and then stopped, will make the OR ask questions.
I, personally, say don't mess with things as they are. You will be creating far more problems than it's worth.
Out of interest, where is all the surplus going and if she can prove it quickly and easily, what's the issue?
I guess I just don't see why you are going to all that hassle, for something any decent and experienced OR will see through straight away.:: BCSC #71 but now discharged! ::0 -

there is a reason i dont want to put everything on my SOA as i said to you the otherday (i think i did anyway) and that is if on my SOA i can show my wife is contributing more than 50% which she does then the OR will have no cause or right to investigate any further into my wifes side of things but if i put CTC down the OR will certainly want to know where all the surplus is going
then my wife will get hassled to prove it, which she can, but she is under no obligation legal or otherwise to do and just create a lot more stress and paperwork . So if the CTC are not paid to me i dont have to declare them and as the claim is in my wifes name she can reverse her discision to pay them to me when she likes and i have no say in the matter. yes the OR will know they exist and will probebly ask me but all i have say is that their paid to my wife and thats as far as it can go. I will stress again this is not some devious plan to hide anything its just to protect my wife and family as much as possible during all this and believe me the OR will have enough on their plate trying to find out how i got into this mess and seen as i was totaly out of it on drugs (prescription i hasten to add god that sounded bad:o ) for most of the time i am expecting a realy hard time ahead because i truly dont remember most of it just my little way of using thier system to simplify it a little. Thats of course if they stick to there system:rolleyes:
Sorry blind...think I may have got the wrong end of the stick here, but I now think I get where you're coming from. I've looked at my own SoA and I realise that question 6.7. doesn't actually ask you to specify if their contibution is wages/benefits or a lottery win.
You are being honest by telling them what you receive. And you are being honest by telling them what your OH contributes. So I don't think you need to elaborate any further about where the money comes from.
If it's any consolation, the OR didn't ask me if my OH's contribution was wages or otherwise. She did ask me what he earned but that was a "don't know" answer because I don't.
Hope I've understood it right this time Blind...don't want to confuse things anymore for you.0 -

I have CTC into a joint account and it does say who receives it, with my NI number too. It might well be different for you but please do double check.I do appreciate what your saying realy i do but if you read my other thread (cant remeber which one)Some very helpfull friends, not:mad: have told my wife she does not have to cooperate with the OR in any way and shes now addament she wont, and form the digging i have done it is true if certain criteria are met without OR getting a court to order her too wich is 'not advisable'
That's silly, being stubborn will get you nowhere, she should be fully open and supportive. The chances of the OR asking about her finer financial details are very slim. I don't recall OH's OR asking anything about my contribution at all.oh and yes if it does get nasty she can prove where it is going, its getting her too that is the problem plus she,s been told she can sue if they try but havnt been able to confirm that one
See, now her locking horns with an OR will not go down well. Many have tried, most have failed. Really, I'd be very concerned if she did act like that in the face of any questions coming her way. I see why she's indignant to being probed but if it's benefiting you both at the end of the day, I wouldn't do the same.
Anyway, yes, you do what you need to do, as long as you are aware of all and any consequences.:: BCSC #71 but now discharged! ::0 -
Oh no, I didn't think anything of the sort! I just don't want you getting into any trouble that's all.:: BCSC #71 but now discharged! ::0

Blind...after reading Bakey's post about who's name is on the bank statements for receiving the CTC...I checked ours. It shows my OH but the OR has seen these statements and didn't question it. If the OR really wants to know who gets what I suppose they can just go direct to the Inland Revenue.
In any event, you are not doing anything wrong here. You have answered the questions on the SoA exactly as they have been asked, and you can do no more and no less.
My OH was also slightly concerned that he might be asked some any awkward questions, but it hasn't come to that. Please reassure your wife that this nightmare is only temporary, and that she is most unlikely to be scrutinized. Stick together on this one and you'll ride it out.0 -
I've said before that BR is an incredibly difficult process to go thru emotionally, it affects those nearest and dearest to you too. Just now it is probably at its most intense, once you've got the hearing over with things will calm down.
Take care Blind.
Off to bed now I'm tired, those two drinks at the pub finished me off.0
