cleaning varnished real wood floors

hello,
has anyone got any tips for cleaning varnished wooden floors?
A few months ago I restored the floorboards in my house. Finished them with 3 coats of a waterbased satin floor varnish.
How do I clean them?
When I wipe with a damp cloth they look great when wet but dry with a white smear all over them
Thanks a lot

I use some pledge wood cleaner - just a drop or so in a bucket of warm water and mop or cloth squeezed out so it's barely damp, lasts ages.0

In my previous house I had professionally sanded and sealed floorboards and only ever used a Stardrops solution to clean them with. They never, ever looked smeary after cleaning. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -

I wouldn't say to use vinegar, mainly for the smell, and I also would suggest stardrops (great for almost everything!) alternatively I like to use a flash Powermop which doesn't dry with any streaks but this might be a different result on your floor.0

never heard or seen stardrops, googled it, but where sells it?0

You might have to shop around. They used to sell it in my local Sainsbury's but haven't done so for quite a while now. The last lot I bought I got from Asda & I stocked up on it in case they too stopped selling it at some future point.
I've never seen it in any of the £1 shops I've been to, so it might depend on where you live regarding them stocking it.The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
