How much could I save? and does it really matter?
I am with EBico for both, I use
24000 kwh annual gas
1234 kwh annual Elec
I am advised by energyhelpline this costs me in the region of £750 per year.
Elec only, I could save £13 with British Gas online (Online is not for me, I like paper and convienience of a letter through the door. One other supplier could save me £3, can't remember who.
Gas only, A great many suppliers could beat Ebico at present. ranging from £25, 28, 30, 35, up to 45 - 50 (British Gas Online) & finally £53 from 'Utilita' (sounds like Utility warehouse has rebranded themselves  ). I wouldn't touch Utilita with a barge pole, and as I said Online billing is not for me. Plus I hate British Gas.
Elec and Gas combined....
Similar story a lot of suppliers are beating Ebico by various amounts, but if you look at what is being offered you are actually (or I am) only really saving on Gas prices, and the best deals are offered by the companies with the worst record for Customer Service and Ethics. The rest are mainly Online deals, and the rest are not really saving me much to be worth switching anyway.
Plus a major factor is that the summer has arrived, and my Gas bills drop to almost nothing in the summer, so although I can save up to 10% on my gas prices, I'll actually only be saving about £10 over the next 6 months. It's the winter that makes the gas bills rise.
Conclusion.....
I will sit this out and wait for Ebico to hopefully lower their prices sometime before the cold begins to arrive in October. I will reconsider in September/October.

To be honest, your Gas usuage is quite high in Ebico terms (compared to my usage, yours is about double) which is probably why its not so competative for you. Its much better value for lower users but as you, I do love the quarterly bill and no messing.
Thats why your Electricity is better with Ebico, My annual usage is about 2100kwh which makes BG Click the better option (even though it is more hassle) and prices Ebico a bit out of the ball park for me. Inversly, the price BG Click Energy charge for Gas is extortion at my usage levels.

I just looked at Uswitch for different prices as I've just moved house. TBH, there wasn't that much of a difference for what we use on gas or electricity. But, we've just taken over the Gas supplier (BG) and the Electricity supplier (NPower), so I will wait and see too!0

Energyhelpline is better than Uswitch.
Energyhelpline provides you with all the results as default
Uswitch hides some suppliers from your search results unless you know which hoops you have to jump through (which buttons and options to choose).0
