Hi all. Just acquired the car. Trying to get a radio in but cannot find arial cable in slot-in hole (no arial visible outside). Do I need to drill bodywork to fix arial or are there internal systems I can use. Next question is "how much for fitting arial"??? Many thanks

I know for a fact that most german cars back then didnt come with a stereo or even speakers fitted as standard but I'm a bit surprised to find they didnt even bother with an aerial. Rather than doing any kind of drilling etc, I suggest you get a windscreen mounted aerial. You can get them off ebay or from halfrauds for £10-£15. They stick onto the inside of the windscreen and the wiring can be sent around the pillar and then to the back of the stereo. They have a built in amplifier which is powered from the battery to give better reception. They are much easier to fit than a proper exterior one which will take a lot more effort in my opinion.
