Free prescriptions/dentistry after baby

Hello
Not sure if this is the right place to post but I was wondering if anyone knew what I have to do to be able to get free prescriptions etc until my son is one.
He was a surprise baby - I literally had no idea I was expecting until I went to hospital in agony - 5hrs later my son was here.
I obviously didn't have a midwife before he arrived and am now trying to catch up with everything!
