in Credit cards
Hope someone can suggest something! I have just returned from living abroad for more than 20 years ,moved back last July. Have had an income in UK now for 9 months , higher tax bracket. Have had a bank account for over 30 years with the same bank and have had a debit card with them but cannot get a credit card. They offer me a loan but not a cc. I am on the electoral roll since the last update in October and am renting a house.
Any suggestions?

You may have to apply for something like an Aqua Card. Providing you clear the balance every month, you can pretty much ignore the high APR. Give it 6 months then you should be able to apply for a better card. After a further six months, try again. Don't be tempted to rush the process and attempt to apply for more cards in a shorter timeframe, the banks will sniff desperation. You will get there, it will simply take time.
Ensure that you're on the electoral roll at your address. Sign up for Noddle, the free-for-life online credit report. Ensure that there aren't any discrepancies on your report (things that are there that shouldn't be or vice-versa). You may want to also get hold of credit reports from the other agencies (Experian & Equifax). Statutory reports cost £2 each.
