Just a quick question - don't want to bore everyone with all the details yet but has anyone had dealings with this company? It's a holiday company. We've signed up for membership but, basically what we've been told isn't what we get. I can't say for definite it's a scam cos don't have proof but I'm starting to think that way. They are atol and abta bonded so I'm just looking for some reassurance or (worst case scenario) advice about how to get out of the membership.
Thanks xxx

Where do they say they are ABTA & ATOL? Did they just say that verbally. Sorry - can't see it on the site.0

Saw this on their site;
"Our customer service provider Timelinx – The Holiday Club People, services our customers through state-of-the-art reservation centres located in Birmingham, England and Malaga, Spain."
Timelinx have an ABTA number there....
Quick search on google and there are a few unhappy customers... I would be cautious.0 -
Hi there
Thanks for the replies. Freedom Vacation Network is one of the companies serviced by Timelinx. It's a holiday company, which operates by buying up the unused rooms of member hotels and timeshare resorts etc and letting them out to members very cheaply (supposedly). The idea is that members get good accommodation at a discounted rate and the hotel gets some money on otherwise unused accommodation. The problem is that we were told the rooms were the same price no matter where you went depending on the accommodation you booked i.e one bedroomed, two bedroomed etc. We were also told that the flights would be at net cost, would be day flights and that there was a free upgrade on flights over 4 hours. We were also told that we would receive a cash certificate which we held for 5 years and we'd then get our money back. We were on our guard for timeshare touts so this sounded a good way of getting cheaper holidays. Everything had been written down so we signed that we understood and agreed with what was written. When the package arrived however, none of that was in it. The rates are a bit cheaper but nowhere near what we were told and as for the flights, the website directs you to skyscanners or travel provider. We called Timelinx and they must've thought we were mad. They said that all of that info was wrong and that they'd get someone from Freedom Vacation Network to contact us. No one has and I've now called them and emailed them but they just say someone will call us back. That's why I wondered if anyone else had any experience of them or any advise. Their office is in Tenerife. Sorry this is so long

FVN are a sales operation offering membership of a holiday club giving substantial savings on flights & holidays. The bookings are handled by a company called Timelinx. The deal clincher (for us at least) was the promise of full refund of your membership fees in 51 months via a company called Reclaim Ltd.
The reality is that the flight & holiday prices offered during the sales speil by FVN in Tenerife are flights of fancy (pun intended). When you try to book any flights or holidays through Timelinx you'll find that the prices they offer are usually more expensive (about 4 times the cost of those they sucker you in with during the sales session) than those available from reputable companies or even high street travel agents. The icing on the cake will be when the Reclaim Ltd paperwork arrives and you discover that the "100% moneyback guarantee" touted ny FVN is in reality only 10% of the membership value and that this is subject to transaction fee deductions of a further 5%. This is of course assumimg you fill in all the paperwork absolutely as shown on the certificate (complete with any spelling mistakes), return it to Reclaim Ltd within the stipulated period and then remember to claim in 51 months (minus 28 days) time via registered post. Any deviation results in your claim being void and the spelling errors are intentional to encourave voiding the claim.
FVN - Timelinx - Reclaim Ltd???????????
STAY WELL CLEAR
If you want to get rid of some cash with no gain just set fire to it (or send it me!)

I signed up with this company in November last year. Part of the deal was that they would also buy my timeshare off me. I duly sent the membership certificate in January but they have done nothing about it. I managed to get the E mail address of their transfer office but have had no reply to 2 E mails asking for the return of my Certificate. I have had to pay the maintenance fee and am still the owner of the time share. I have telephoned Freedom vacation but the phone is always on answerphone and they do not reply. This company are a gang of absolute charlatans Avoid at all costs.0
