Tbh, I don't recognise any of those as equivalent qualifications for UCAS points (maybe ocn, but 18is nowhere near enough for uni), but depending on what you plan to study, as a mature student sometimes allowances are made for having experience in the field, rather than meting tariffs

As a mature student, recent study is also important, so how long ago did you obtain your qualifications?

I had 0 UCAS points - mature student entry was enough so don't worry. Your biggest worry should be your personal statement, are you getting help with that?

As I said on a recent thread, UCAS points are largely irrelevant for mature students who often offer unusual qualifications. Don't worry about it.

hey the study is all within the last ten years i always like to continue and do something most of it minus the gcses are within the last 4 years i have two years experiance on emergencey ambulances and looking to do my paramedic course so what would you suggest just contact the uni's and ask weather i have a chance to gain access ???

Yes, I would do exactly that and do it in time so that you can do any additional qualification they might ask for.

Yes, contact the unis first. It may well be they will consider the qualifications you already hold.

Have you spoke to your peers about how they got into the role, especial those you have qualified recently.

I don't know what your physical fitness is like, but most people I know who have applied for paramedic courses, tend to fail on the fitness test, or at least struggle with what is required (and these people are not couch potatoes by any means)

You are too late to apply for courses starting this September, so you have plenty of time to look into gaining equiv qualifications like an Access Course for entry in 2014. Plus working on your personal statement showcasing all your relevant experience

    Good luck

Firstly, you are not too late to apply for this year. You have missed the deadline for "equal consideration", but that simply means that unis don't have to consider you. Many still will - you just need to contact them before applying, but as you have non-standard entry qualifications you need to do that anyway.

You can make a UCAS application any time up until September. If you apply before June 31st then you pick 5 choices in the usual way, after that you can only use Clearing. So you've got ages to apply!

Secondly, level 2 qualifications are equivalent to GCSE and do not have a UCAS points value. But UCAS points are only one way of measuring - many qualifications are valuable but don't have a UCAS point score. There's so many different qualifications that it would be impossible to give every one a value so they've just focused on the main ones. It also depends what you want to study - you can get points from dance and horseriding, but that's not relevant to most courses so unis ignore them anyway.

Thirdly, if you want decent help with your personal statement then head over to TSR. They have a private personal statement forum so you can post it there and get good advice from people who know what they're talking about. They also have comprehensive guides to applying in their articles section if you want additional help, or you can post in the UCAS help forums or even the mature students section. I would suggest that you read this article on late applications.

    .

Paramedic courses are way oversubscribed so clearing would not be an option. If you don't get your application in for the first deadline, then you don't stand a chance at getting your application looked at. Espec as the OP will be relying on experience not academic ability.

Unfortunately, a quick google search proves you wrong as some courses are accepting late applications.
