Scottish Power Switch to British Gas
So i decided to switch mainly due to a offer on quidco the rates werent that much different and to get £80 cashback seemed a good deal (essentially towards the gas and electric)
I should mention we are on prepayment metres i find it easier to keep control of what we use this way (some may agree some may disagree)
So we had our letters off british gas confirming the switch etc, yesterday we recieved a letter from scottish power saying that we owe them near £80 (for electric), with no details on what this consists of or any breakdown of the price, it continues to say that they will be taking £12 a week from what we put in the metre.
I'm honestly baffled on how exactly we owe them money theres a standing charge every week of £2.11 for the use of this prepayment metre, along with the electric we use, which is taken off what we put in.
Anyone had similar and able to shed some light onto this as you can probably guess i'm not happy and now seems pointless to even make the switch, i'd ring up and try and find out but there shut till tomorrow morning.
Any help or info would be grealty appreciated

funnily enough it was exactly that, sent them a strongly worded email last saturday after forgetting to ring up, got the mrs to phone up monday (11th) and the debt and charges on the metre were removed after they sent a code to the key (at the shop you input a code).
No explanation on why we were charged, only to be told someone would get back to us.
I recieved a email later that day with a response from scottish power, saying that "my case would be forwarded to the relevant departed and that i would get a response"
Few days later we eventually get a phone call with a explanation (if you can call it that) apparentyl in 2011 we were not paying enough due to a fault with the metre not reporting correctly back there end, to me this is more "cover our !!!".
They then have the nerve to send us a letter basically saying don't leave us, your a valued customer etc etc :rotfl:
To top it off we were told that any money taken from us during this "debt" period would not be refunded, considered trying to get it back but for the sake of maybe £10 it's not worth the hassle just glad to be done with them.0
