Its only 43 days. Phone paypal. You should still be able to open a case.

Its still 45 days isnt it?

Or have you opened a cancellation request already?

For the case I initially posted about yes, and we had given that up as a lost cause so thank you for letting me know that it might not be. I understand hubby sent an email to ebay about it a few days ago, but hasn't received a response.

This second chance offer though is for another item that I had a problem with which occurred as I was part way through making post #5 in this thread. That originally sold on 30th January and the original buyer pulled out citing that he had no money to pay for the item. The second bidder has not responded to a second chance offer and that ran out about half an hour ago.

Sorry, I've confused everyone. I shouldn't have posted about the two items in the same thread, but I was so annoyed that another buyer had bid for something expensive and couldn't pay for it I had a bit of a rant.
  • How did you cancel the transaction?

Did you send a cancellation request, or open a NPB?

    .

I'm not sure as hubby did it. The way he was referring to the item was that he had to cancel the transaction and offer it to the second bidder, so I assume an NPB hasn't been opened.

He also said this morning that when he gets home this afternoon he would open a NPB so again that suggests he hasn't done so yet.

I told him to hold off until I could find out for sure the best way of finishing this transaction off so we get our FVF fees.

I would go for a NPB over a cancellation request. Your buyer has not paid for one item and has bid on more (if I'm reading it correctly). Cant say I would trust them to agree to a cancellation request.
  • So we open a NPB, wait four days, if he has not paid, we close and then at some point we receive the £60 FVFs back.

    Is that correct?

I believe you can only open a full NPB for 30 days after the transaction date. I'll see if I can find anything to say that on eBay

I can't seem to find the time frame for a NPB dispute, I have found the one for a mutual and that is 45 days:

OK found it, you only have 32 days to do a full NPB

Timeline: Opening a case - 4 to 32 days after the sale

  • Thanks Soolin.

Just discovered that the first item that I posted about - the £100 model aircraft- has not been cancelled by hubby. As we're outside the timeframe for NPB, we've requested cancellation more out of hope than anything else. If we get the £10 FVF that will be great but we're not banking on it as the option to refuse is there.

The £600 item has just had a NPB case opened.

So what happens if the 'skint' buyer suddenly pays by PayPal? It's a cash on collection or courier item and we're not allowing pick up with PayPal payment. It does says on the listing if collecting it should be cash, or we would be willing to post.
