Do you have one? If so, what do you think?
They are made by Nobilia, Germany.
How do they compare, quality wise, with other German kitchen manufacturers?
ie. RWK & Schuller.

Nobilia is a similar product to Schueller C1, Hacker Classic, Wellmann, Beckermann, Rot Punkt, Bauformat etc. Entry level basic stuff. If purchased at the right price, good value for money. In Germany Hacker, Schueller and Nobilia are manufactured as a no-name unbranded product for rebadging, typically by their equivalents of the sheds.
Having seen some of the quotes on all of their kitchens marketed as premium German kitchen, it certainly didnt appear like good value for money.
RWK is better than Nobilia, more like Schueller C2 and Hacker Systemat etc, more of a mid-range product. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
For the money they are are not very good. Quality wise the same as Ikea though the internal wire work will be better from Homebase ie magic corners etc0

Please tell me you are joking Steve. Nobilia is basic but far better than anything from Ikea. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Thank you for this useful information. Ideally I would love a RWK or Schueller kitchen but I reckon they will be out of my budget, hence why I am looking at Nobilia instead.
I currently have a Schrieber (from MFI) kitchen. So don't want to go lower than this, quality wise. It was the best I could afford at the time.
New kitchen is for our new house. Once we move, I will get a quote from Odina Homebase & an independant kitchen showroom that stocks RWK/Schueller. See how much they differ price wise.0 -
Im sure Nobilla make different quality cabinets for different customers. The ones they sell to Homebase are pretty much exactly the same as Ikea cabinets quality wise. Homebase wall units have better brackets to attach them to the wall. Ikea wall units are attached by 2 screws into the wall. Not good on a 1000 by 900 wall unit.
If Homebase were competing on price with Ikea it wouldnt be so bad imo but they are probably 60 to 100% more expensivePlease tell me you are joking Steve. Nobilia is basic but far better than anything from Ikea.0 -
Below is the letter I have just sent to Homebase - buy with care:
Without Prejudice
31 October 2013
On the 26 July 2013 I took the step of writing to Terry Duddy to complain about our treatment in respect of the fitting of an Odina kitchen by Homebase.
Without revisiting the detail of the issues outlined in my email of 26 July 2013 in full, I would reiterate that we ordered our kitchen from Homebase on 27 January 2013 with fitting scheduled to take place on the week commencing 22 April 2013. As at today's date it is now in excess of 9 months since we placed our order and in excess of 6 months since installation was scheduled.
Although progress has been made since my complaint to you our kitchen remains unfinished and we still have not heard a final date to complete the installation of the remaining parts of the kitchen, nor to complete the remaining work required to make good one of the kitchen walls. Again, yesterday we were promised contact to arrange installation, which failed to materialise.
As a result of the above we are no longer prepared to deal with Homebase/Odina regarding completion of our kitchen nor are we prepared to deal further with any Homebase/Odina subcontractors.
Given you have failed to deliver and fit our kitchen in 9 months we are rejecting the goods and do not intend to proceed to pay for the kitchen. With this in mind, should you wish to uninstall the kitchen we would be happy for you to do so at a time and date that is convenient to us. In the event that you choose not to uninstall the kitchen we will be instructing our own installer to complete the remaining work in respect of our kitchen.
You will also need to engage with Barclays to agree how you will address the financing in respect of the kitchen. I would note that the loan should not have been set up in the first place as at no time have we confirmed, either verbally or in writing, that we considered the kitchen to have been delivered and installed. Indeed at the time the loan was set up our kitchen had no splash backs (bear walls) and the plugs were not even secured to the wall. As a result of your premature establishment of this loan it has been necessary to raise a claim under s.75 of the Consumer Credit Act with Barclays. This has caused further unnecessary inconvenience. As you will be aware, loan repayments in respect of this finance agreement are suspended.
In summary, the contempt you display to your customers is nothing short to astounding and we are not prepared to continue to deal with you regarding this matter.
Please note that all further communication between ourselves and Homebase/Odina is to be in writing.
Yours sincerely

why would you buy a cheep kitchen! its the biggest domestic purchase you'll make par from the house why cut corners.
I would recommend you don't even look at the DIY's unless you are renting your property out0 -
The thing is Homebase kitchen are not cheap. They are very expensive. When buying a kitchen expensive doesnnot always mean good quality. Homebase are a prime example of thiswhy would you buy a cheep kitchen! its the biggest domestic purchase you'll make par from the house why cut corners.

Odina kitchens from Homebase aren't cheap. In fact they are grossly overpriced. We recently came across someone who bought one for over £20k and it doesnt even have solid worktops. They purchased appliances from us and came to us several times. The service they received from Homebase was shocking. Sheer incompetency.
It continually amazes me that people feel comfortable spending £15-20k at sheds drawn in by silly 50% off discount offers. I dont understand what about the whole shed environment inspires confidence. We’ve had to remove your signature.
