    No

I was fantastic with money before I had any!!!

    Don't have, can't spend!

However after having a childhood of always feeling like an expense, i never used to ask my mum for much coz I knew she didnt have much.

Then I became a teenager, and hell broke loose, and went to a posh-er school where people had money and developed insecurities and thought money would solve all of it.

Then I started getting some and it just went........ and carried on going.... waving goodbye :)

Even now I'm convinced I'm pretty useless at money management, although I am making efforts to deal with the insecurities and the debts, not as quick as I'd like.......... but steady works too

I've always been good with other peoples money but crap with my own. When my parents gave me £1 pocket money a week as a kid, I saved up £200 for a telescope that I really wanted. But the second I got a job and started earning, I'd spend it as I worked hard for it so should enjoy it. I think (hope) I'm getting back to the saving me rather than the spending me, but with the wife and children it's not that easy!

Great question SS - I reckon you're up for post of the week for this one.

I was quite good when I first left school and started earning properly. I used to save for things I *wanted* and never had to ask Mum for anything extra. But I never put anything away for a 'rainy day'. Didn't start any savings accounts.

Then as I got a bit older and realised I really enjoyed shopping for clothes () after growing up in hand-me-downs...it all went wrong.

Never really got any better till 2005!

I used to be fine with money.

I would make a months salary last for 2 months, and save every other pay packet. That was in the days when I lived at home, had nothing to spend money on except a nice car and going out.

Then I got married and moved out. I dont know whether it was my husband's fault, or whether it was the shock of managing household bills for the first time, but things weren't great. Negative equity from the sale of our first home really put us on the slippery slope into debt.

My hubby is the type who likes to have the best, I think because he grew up with very little. He still wont eat value stuff etc

So basically, none of this is my fault :D

That was in the pre mortgage, husband and children days hun.

All my money was mine to do what I wanted with, apart from the pittance of a rent I paid me mam :o

    I agree.

If I got divorced and had my kids, the dog and cats adopted, I could do it no problem I reckon.

A month eating 8p noodles and porridge would be OK :D
