Last week I placed an order for some clothing items, order was accepted and paid for and confirmation e-mail received.
The following day on checking my orders, I noticed only a single item had been shipped so |I sent an e-mail enquiring as to when outstanding item would ship. Play cancelled the outstanding item from my account then sent an e-mail the following day saying any charged monies would be refunded and the item was out of stock.
Outstanding item is not oos and is clearly listed on the site as in stock for available delivery
Anything I can do given they accepted my order, confirmed my order and were paid for the order?
Oh Play have increased the item price form £4.99 to £34.99 - they may have mispriced it and been caught with their pants down and wriggled out.
Item is available at the moment on their site.

Until they confirm dispatch no contract is formed under their T&C's
No contract for the sale of any product will subsist between you and Play.com until Play.com confirms that the product(s) have been dispatched to you by a confirmation email.0 -
Two were ordered, 1 has been dispatched, they then claimed the reason the order was cancelled was because oos. Blatant lie.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0

If they didn't confirm dispatch of the second item then no contract has been formed.0

Instead of telling you it was out of stock they could have told you it was a misprice and you could cancel and get a refund or pay £34.99 for it
They do not have to sell it to you at the mistake price0 -

The stock at the price you were offered was sold out.
The stock you now see is a different price, this is allowed as per play.com's terms and conditions.
You could kick up a stink, but they stop their retail business next month, so its not s if bad mouthing them will help

Also worth noting that while they did implement laws similar to ours, they arent actually governed by UK law. In other words, we're not familiar with it.Every purchase you make shall be deemed as being performed in Jersey. Jersey law shall govern every aspect of contractual agreement concerning purchases made from the Site. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0
