we have tickets for a concert at wembley on the 19 june so we are thinking of making it a couple of days away for us, what i need is some ideas on where to stay and how to get about in london.
we are thinking of leaving hull on the monda 18 and coming back on the wed 20. i have seen train tickets at about 60 for both of us return is that about the cheapest i can get,(proably is). i am not sure tho should we stay in central london an travel out to wembley or stay near wembley and travel into london to see the site
. i am hoping we get to have a look around london zoo on the tuesday but what else is there worth seeing. we have looked at using a oyster card ther to get around. (i gather we will need one each)
what does every think?

If you get a hotel close to Baker Street Tube station you can take the Metropolitan or Jubilee Line up to Wembley quite easy and, depending on the hotel's location, walk to the Zoo across Regent's Park. You'll also be a short Tube, bus or taxi journey from the rest of central London and walking distance from Oxford Street...0

I agree - find a hotel near Baker Street; you'll be less than ten minutes via tube from Wembley station, and right next door to the Planetarium and Madame Tussaud's. Shopping on Oxford Street is no more than a 15 minute walk, either.0

You definitely need an Oyster card each. I think you still need to pay a deposit of £3 which is refundable if you retunr the card at the end of your visit. If you're unsure if you will need a travelcard use pay-as-you-go. There is a daily cap corresponding to slightly less than the day travelcard. So if you just use bus in all of London, you end up only paying £3 per day.
From the TFL website:
All Oyster single fares are frozen across London and the Oyster daily price cap for adults remains 50p below the One Day Travelcard price.
Caps: Zone 1 / Zone 1-2 Travelcard (Bus and Tube) peak is 6.10, off peak (after 9h30) is 4.60.
Bus Cap: 3£.0
