I've moved in! Dave Ham is AMAZING!

Hi everyone

Just wanted to say a big thanks to you all for your support while I've been dealing with the pure hell that is buying a house - I don't post often but I get a lot from reading threads and reading other comments people have made. I moved into my house yesterday and I'm absolutely thrilled, it's a lovely house.

I have bad credit due to a default (I forgot to pay my last phonebill...) and also due to not really having a credit history. I went through Dave Ham's brokers and really recommend him, he was worth absolutely every penny. He's really friendly and down to earth, talks to you in plain english, won't have you off and really says it like it is. He spends his time on you, I ended up being a nightmare client and he really worked hard for me, he once even answered his mobile when he was eating his fry up to help me. He's also got me an absolutely fantastic rate of 4.64% with 15% down which is a much, MUCH better rate than the free mortgage brokers I got quotes with could get me. He really knows his stuff and he's just a nice guy.

I was homeless when I was a teenager and lived in absolute "can't afford food" poverty when I was younger so it's a really big deal for me to have a house. If anyone's reading this and they're in a terrible situation now please keep going, I'm living proof that it CAN get better and you can get through it. Never give up.

Take care

Ianna

I thought Dave had pulled for a minute there.
  • I just want to "2nd" the sentiments in this thread posted by Ianna!

My husband and I received our full mortgage offer today thanks to the many hoops that Dave jumped through to help us! We are a forces family and have been out of the UK for many, many years and we wanted to start sorting out putting down 'roots' back home. I've read these boards for years so had an inkling of the difficulties we may face and knew going via a broker would be the way!

We got told in a sense (by a profound silence!) that we would not be able to be helped because of our address issues and problems with gaining our credit reports and the such. Gutted wasn't the word! Then by chance I came across this thread and thought I would call this Dave Ham person just for a chat to get another opinion...

The rest is history as they say! Dave Ham is a fantastic person! Very professional and never once built up our hopes whilst at the same time not squashing them! He has literally held mine and my hubby's hand through this whole nail biting process, never once got bored of our endless questions and doubts! Reply contact was always very fast and we were updated every step of the way!

I hope no one minds me inadvertently bumping this thread and I know Dave will probably be embarrassed that I've posted this but I'm just SO happy that my little family will finally get to have our own home and give others hope! I can paint it all pink if I want and not worry about any march outs ;) Though hubby may say no to the pink ;) it's nothing grand, no mansion or even a thing of beauty lol BUT it's going to be ours!!

If anyone else is reading this and thinking like we were just a short while ago that the odds are stacked against you - do NOT give up!!

Oh and we have been in our overdraft! Along with our address and credit report issues I really thought we were doomed! ;)

I'm excited to start a diary in the mortgage free wannabe section soon!!

    Sorry for the ramble!

I think what you intended to say was that Dave Ham brings home the bacon.

    Rasher things have been said.
You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'

I think you scored a rather streaky six there, ValHaller.
