Skype games with grandchildren

I wonder if anyone can help.

I skype my grandchildren (aged 4 and 2) about once a fortnight.

Trouble is they get bored and I wondered if MSErs had any tips for games to play to keep their interest.
Thanks

  • How about reading them a story?
  • Finger puppet show? You can get some lovely ones with the story on Amazon.
  • Oooh I've had another idea. You could buy a little teddy, say like a small mouse. You can play hide the mouse before the game and then your GC can tell you where they think the mouse is!

    Battleships? I spy?
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.
  • For the books, you could buy two copies of a lovely packed fairy story book and have one sent to your GC and one for you, that way they can follow along!

This is a lovely book and has a good discount too. My daughter loved this when she was younger. x
  • Thanks a lot for the suggestions. I particularly like the idea of fingerpuppets. I think I could tell stories using them. Iwill check out Amazon.
Also like battleships and I Spy.
I was also thinking of educational things like what's the "opposite of?" for the 4 year old. Anything else along these lines?
    Thanks again
  • I love the idea of playing games with darling children on skype, so long as they managed to get it into their heads that this was long distance love.

  • Not quite Skype but my 4 year old loves making little videos we then send to long distance family. It started with a rendition of Jingle Bells at Christsmas time & then showing his new bedroom etc, etc. hiding & then boo! Is silly & fun!
