Distance between cooker and worktop

Hi
I'm currently fitting a new ktichen and I'm unsure of what the distance between my freestanding range cooker and the worktop should be.
Oddly enough my SMG range, seems to be only 900mm height....could be an issue with kicking boards...
Thanks very much :j

There will be legs you can higher the cooker with. Sometimes there is a tool provided for the back legs so you can access them from the front. Anything over a 5mm gap either side doesnt look good imo. Dont forget if its laminate to get the protective metal heat strips on the ends of the worktop0

Our Rangemaster 110 is flush with the worktop (induction), you could barely fit a fag-paper in the gap and they are identical height.0

The safety clearance should be documented in the installation instructions as it can very depending on make/style of cooker. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

If its gas, 20mm either side!
Plus other considerations?

The manufacturer will almost always overrule that, for example Rangemaster only ask for 2mm either side as log as the top of the appliance and the top of the worktop are at least level. If its gas, 20mm either side!
