I've just been offered a bigger property but I can't afford to move at present.
Removal costs, beds, fridge, washing machine etc. One month's rent in advanced.
Social fund and Community care grant are only for people on benefits.
I work and get working families tax credit, tax credit, some housing benefit and DLA for my son.
Is there anything I can claim to help with the cost of moving.
If I could spilt the payments I would be fine its just finding the money in advance.

- assuming you are rented, most if not all HA's have a 'welfare department'
- if you are offered a bigger property with the same HA, [and have no arrears] ask if they can help
- community care grants budgeting loans or crisis loans are other avenues worth exploringDisclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. As the OP realises they are not entitled to a community care grant or a budgeting loan as to be eligible you have to be on a qualifying benefit.
Crisis loans are only awarded in extreme circumstances and from what the OP says they would not qualify.

Your local housing department may help but I would be surprised if they had money for such circumsatnces.
Your need appears to have arisen because the offer of this larger house has come quickly and you have had no time to save.
If this is true then is it possible to borrow from family or friends and then repay them at an amount you agreed?
Furniture for a house can be got from Freecyle or secondhand shops.
CAB may have other contact details for people/organisations who help in your circumstances.0 -

Thanks I have some things but need an additional bed, i dont currently have a washing machine and my fridge is broken therefore need to replace it. also as its a quick move i dont have the rent in advanced.
I realise i have little options apart from borrowing from family if they can afford that or declining the move and saving up so i'm in a better position next time.
thanks0
