Hampshire Central Heating Installer Required

Wanted: contact from or recommendation of someone who can install a gas combination boiler, 5 radiators etc. in my mid terrace property. Quotes thus far have been in excess of £4000 inc VAT which seems excessive.

That's a fairly average quote for a new install.
You'll pay nearly £2000+ just for a boiler change.

Was your price for a condensing boiler ?

Yes it was for a condensing boiler. Not much choice now that we are in April!

I am surprised by how much it costs, especially as people in the north are taling of the same work for just under £3000. Almost worth paying for them to come down here!

So there you have it: anyone willing to come down from the north (all expenses paid) to fit a central heating system?!

That is correct there have been a couple of adverts on the local radio station in West/South Yorkshire that they can change boiler and 5 radiators in a day for £2500.

You could try HELP-LINK which are based in Yorkshire but they could give you an idea of prices and then put your proposal to them.

Did you Know: It costs more than £325,000 a day to run the lifeboat service? (with no government funding) Please donate to the RNLI

The cheaper and quicker a job can be done, the worse job for your money you will get.

Pay that amount and you'll get a bobbins boiler and bog standard rads to suit. They probably won't flush and cleanse the system, and you'll not get it balanced properly.

My granny had hers done under the scheme for the elderly, and they ripped her house to bits to fitting it. Flooded the hall and hacked at the large victorian coving to send pipes through it. They didn't even clean up as there wasn't enough time for them and they were on another job the next morning. :(
Hit and runs..they call them up here. No chance of getting them back to problem solve afterwards.

You get what you pay for. (where have we heard that before ??) :)
