i've already shown with the other 2 sites that it would be extremley difficult and a lot of work to get those foreign registered/domain sites taken down
Yet branded retailers manage it with no issues..which government depts should be taking down these sites then?
Given these are FREE services if you go direct. The Gov dept concerned should be dealing.
OFT might be a good one.
They are quick to tackle retailers for various issues.
Still hats off to the people who have come up with this idea (no doubt ex department people) for managing to charge people for something that is FREE....Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -
I urge you to read again the quote from the Land Registry representative in post #15.dalesrider wrote: »

He makes other good points which I encourage you to read.0 -

As mentioned there is nothing to stop these commercial sites popping up.
what needs to be tackled aret he ones that MISLEAD consumers about what is happening - clearly with all of these sites there is varying levels of dodginess.
the ones that are dodgy will take steps to make it very difficult for them to get shut down.
the ones liek the passport link you gave are 'egnuine services' - there is no way they can be accused of breaking the law in miselading people so there is no need to hide.0
