cant pay rent on business

I cant pay my rent on my business, so am moving out to save the cash on the other bills..... the owner came in today and told me i can pay £2200 to get out the lease if i want to leave, and he was not happy i was packing up and going.....i said i cant even pay the bus fair to get to work. .....if it gets worse and i cant pay at all, can he make me bankrupt ? what would he gain from doing this too ? I know i would loose my house, and would prob end up homeless. Im starting to worry alot !! i have 2 years left on the lease, and have it on the market trying to get someone to take it on, 2 people have been to look but the rent is too high they say.

Could you not get someone to share the premises with and pay half each? a friend once did this and it did buy him some time if nothing else.

  • I was doing that, then the council came in and said I could not massage until I put sinks in all the rooms, I got me a portable one, but just cant afford to do it ......something I never checked when i took on the place, as it was a beauty salon before. I had 5 people renting rooms from me. when they left i lost about 60% of my income, that was a year ago, and its all kinda gone downhill from then !
  • I had a 6 year lease, wish Id had a shorter one now !

  • Im trying to get someone in the place now im gone, I pay £585 per month, so i could ask for £100 ...that would cover some. But they would have to use the place as office or put the sinks in of they wanted it to still be beauty/holistic place.
