Microsoft LifeCam VX-800

My cousin just got a webcam the above model and she can't get it to work on her laptop (Toshiba Satellite/Windows Vista) so I just looked at it, the light went on for a second then off, the laptop says it's installed the drivers (for the webcam I got my sister I had to go onto Microsofts website and install the software on there) I tried to do that with this one but on Microsofts site there is no download for this webcam?

Is it broke or are we doing something wrong?

    Full model number of laptop? Does it not already have a built-in webcam of the same quality?

    It doesn't have any webcam no. It's a Toshiba Satellite L350.
    Still can't find any download on Microsofts site for this webcam though there are downloads for the others. I know it's not an expensive webcam but it should at least work. Confused.

    Try uninstall then reinstall, did it not come with disc

    Need a bit more of the model number. Either the part after L350 or PS*****

    Have you checked the everything is ok within the Device Manager?

    Have you tested the webcam with another machine?

    Is Vista up to date with Updates?
