well done you. bet they look fantastic.

i remember the first time i made some curtains for my children room. i was sooo chuffed. and they were so cheap to make as well. from that i then went on and made some cot duvet covers for my little boy to match the room.

i love sewing. but i prefer to do it more in the winter. not sure why . maybe cause of the coziness of making the home thing's.

    Well done Daisy,

Keep it up and you will be amazed what you can do.

I have knitted, sewn and done crochet for most of my life but my proudest effort was the black silk top I started to crochet for DD1 about 10 years ago and finished in February this year....it is now being worn with pleasure by DD4!

Well done Daisy,, just a thought old shirts, skirts and jumpers make fantastic cushions, cut the sleeves off the shirt and sew up the holes, cut a straight line across the bottom of the shirt and sew up (inside out so no seams show) and leave the buttons down the middle instead of a zip and put in the filling (i use old pillowcases stuffed with all the sleeves and other bits of material) or just buy a cushion filler (about 50P). Then do the buttons up and hey presto a cushion. To make them different you can put different coloured buttons from other items of clothing on, just make sure they go through the button
holes first otherwise you will end up swearing a lot like I did the first time I messed it up.

Well done Daisy! I tried today to buy a zip - and discovered that we only have one shop in this town that now stocks any haberdashery, and they didn't have the right length. Told me "No-one bothers to make things any more!" Made me realise how over the years material shops and wool shops have all but disappeared. We need a revolution in making things (even better to use stuff you already have as you have done) but it's satisfying and means clothes, furnishings, etc. are not all mass-produced and alike. Come on Daisy - lead the revolution for us! Go Girl!

  • ive been sat here wandering what i can use the little bit of red material for an ive decided

igoing to make a table runner

now i dont have enough red but i do have an old cream single sheet(dd has a double bed now so no use)

so im going to place the red in the middle and cream at either end

when ive finished im going to go to the charity shops to see if i can find a black sheet as i fancie black cusions on my red sofa

now what is the cheapest way to stuff them?????

do i buy the stuffin stuff from the material shop or do i buy these cusions that are arround a pound each or is there an easier way?

also found an arron jumper that i washed rong last yr im going to make a pillow for my bed

this making things is soooooo cool

oh came up with another idea last night as well

allways wanted a big pic on the wall so im going to buy a canvas as there on sale near me an im going to get or rather try an find a material with black/red/white in it an cover the canvas up with it can see it in my minds eye but whether it will work or not thats a diff matter
