Bought one of the above from ebay. I am very disappointed, I get the message nosignal when I connect. I did check freeview coverage and according to my postcode I can freeview. I tried to connect scart from TV to freeview box, also what does RF in & RF out mean. I have got outdoor aerail connected to the tv. Thanks

You need to remove the aerial lead from your TV and connect it to the RF IN socket so that the freeview box can recieve a signal. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

I have been able to do it on one TV. I have tried with the TV in my main bedroom, it will not work as I have got a double scart socket. My set up is aerial is connected to VHS, if I connect tv aerial to freeview box, I get nothing. Ideally I want to connect, freeview vhs & dvd to the tv who has got only 1 scart socket. I have tried to follow the instructions from a link about set up, am still lost. Also I did not know once you set up freeview, you can no longer watch terrestial, is this correct? I have a link to sky and I could watch it in my bedroom. I have just found out, I can no longer watch sky. I thought I could switch the freeview off and the tv will be reverted to terrestial but I guess I am wrong as the aerial is linked to the free view box? Silly me.0 -
Take the aerial cable, connect to 'RF in' on the Freeview box.
Connect 'RF out' from Freeview box to 'RF in' on VHS.
Connect 'RF out' on VHS to aerial input on TV.
At this point check that you can still view analogue channels on your TV.
Connect Scart lead from Freeview 'TV output' to TV scart socket.
Check that you can view Freeview channels on the AV channel on your TV (you may need to select this if it doesn't automatically switch to it when the Freeview box is on).
Connect Scart lead from Freeview 'Video output' to VHS 'input' Scart. This will allow you to video the selected Freeview channel.
Now, to connect your video and DVD as well to the TV without having to unplug and plug in Scart leads to the TV, you will need a switch box like this:
http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10001&langId=-1&catalogId=10651&productId=713836
When you get one, remove Scart lead (from Freeview) from Tv and plug into switch box.
Connect VHS output Scart to switch box.
Connect DVD Scart to switch box.
Connect switch box to TV Scart.
Hopefully I've got that correct and you will be all set up. Please, anyone, correct me if I am wrong.Charlie0 -

I have managed to do it, but do not know why when I tried to use the 3 in 1 scart with individual switch. I just bought, it would not work. I then tried my current 2 in 1 scart, it works, but I lose sound. In the end, I did not use any multiple scart sockets, I have just left it connected to one scart socket from tv, vhs is connected to freeview box. It seems to be working fine. A bit disappointed why the 3 in 1 scart would not work. I found the scart lead is very sensitve, one little touch and it would not work, I guess because they are the cheap ones. I guess, I am quite happy I can watch my favourite films on film 4, It will switch from terrestrial to digital as well except I have lost channel 5 on terrestrial. Thanks for your help.0
