ESA first letter I will be called in next two weeks?

Hi
I have had a letter to say I will be called in next two weeks to confirm my identity and answer any questions I may have?
Then they will send me a form?

Is there a particular reason I get a call first and not just have form sent?

Is there anything I need to be aware of about this call? or need to say or ask?
Not a good start as i struggle with dealing with things when i don't know when they are going to happen:-)

I have deliberately not found out much about the new changes until they arrived because I've been through tribunals before and am scared about starting this hamster wheel..
and I have been putting my energy into trying to fight for MH treatment..still unsuccessful..last visit to GP in Nov I was told that 'I shouldn't expect to get the specialist help I need in the area I live in'..and nothing at all they can offer me..notin come in and see my if you ae not coping, I wasn't that when I went in..
I had hoped with CCG changes things would or could improve but GP who said this is our areas rep on the new County CCG board. Lost most of my hair in shock over that..and continue to be completely isolated

The short version ..I now know that I have DID, complex PTSD and brain damage from stroke and head injuryand other physical problems.
I have been trying to get treatment privately but if they have some knowledge they have said no to treating me because I'm too far away and if I lokk nearer they don't have knowledge, or say they have and haven't.

Be grateful for any info for this first part of the process already feeling shakey and there will be weeks months to go..can't say I'm even starting with a full coping tank.

I have contacted my local Mental Health Advocate but they only work p-time and may already have too high a caseload to take me on and I can't really expect to even hear back for probably 10 days.

There are special procedures for those with mental health problems, and in some cases, they try to assess people without sending forms, if this is appropriate, and can be done.
Otherwise, the call will just confirm a few details, and send you the form.

Thanks. Roger . I guess i would feel a lot better about this if I felt my GP even understood my MH, I'm struggling to myself. I wish there was a rule that every surgery had to have at least one GP with special knowledge/ interest in MH. Neither practice in my town has and even when they recruited 2 new Gp's recently they did not think to do this.?

So if they ask me more than basic detail confirmation they could be looking to follow 'special procedures'?
I will try and switch off now I've forgotten to eat again doing this, oops but I don't think I've switched into mania so far. It doesn't look like my asthma meds are going to be delivered today as expected so i need to find a way to remind myself to chase that on mondayas i expect I may well start splitting off and flipping out before then

Could I suggest making a "to do" list before your moods escalate? It can be really simple, and include eating/ washing etc. Plus, to make it manageable, you can break it down into sections - today, Monday etc.

As per the DWP - If their records show that mental health is the only disabling factor and that it has been sufficiently evidenced in the past and their records are marked up accordingly, the file given to ATOS will have a MH 'flag' on it. This indicates to ATOS that if the ESA50 has not been returned they should not send the file back to the DWP as a 'no show' but continue with arranging for the claimant to have a F2F assessment.
