How easy are they to keep clean?
Do they show up every blemish - finger marks etc?
Taking into account we have got young kids....
Do you have to polish in oder to keep smear free?
Any comments would be appreciated.
Thank you

Oddly I work in an office with gloss kitchen units in the kitchen.
They don't have any scratch marks on and considering the state the kitchen is left in by half the staff it's amazing.
In regards to cleaning the kitchen the people who are older tend to clean or wipe things as they see it.
I think the main issues you will have which you will have with any kitchen is your children opening and slamming the doors shut, and banging toys into them.I'm not cynical I'm realistic
(If a link I give opens pop ups I won't know I don't use windows)0 -
Probably depends on the colour! We put in a high gloss IKEA Abstrakt kitchen about 6 years ago - looks perfect. Ours was white. But I bet high gloss red or black would be a different story!0

I saw a high gloss black kitchen in a showroom not so long ago. It looked smeary and very marked.
The white one didn't seem to show things as much, it looked ok.Herman - MP for all!0 -
We have a white high gloss alno kitchen and a two year old and eight year old, I absolutely love it. It wipes clean so easily and hardly shows hand prints / smears at all. We have contrasting grey high gloss units too and they wipe clean just as easily but do show smears a tiny bit more. Think black would be hard work!0

I would say what most people here have already.. White gloss don't really show many marks but it does depend on how the light catches them. At a certain point in the kitchen I notice fingerprints and smear marks so much on one cupboard more than all the others but then the sun does seem to bounce off it. As we rarely have sun it isn't really a problem!
Black probably would show up a nightmare so if you're thinking of white I'd say do it! They look fab and are worth every penny.0 -
I have a cream high gloss kitchen and love it!
I think you can get different types of gloss finishes though where some wouldn't be as hardwearing.
I tend to wipe mine down and then polish off and the only thing I have noticed is, they sometimes get smeary marks. I think it's static - like you would get dust attracted to plastic. A quick dust and it's gone.0 -
Mine is red (Ikea) we use microfiber cloths and they work well, no smears don't find fingerprints too much of an issue and have a 4yr old. We have long handles though that are easy to grab without touching the door.
