Im wondering how long is it before you are put on the WRAG when claiming ESA. Is it usually within 6 months of claiming or what exactly? and how long does it last for?
Same thing with JSA, when you are claiming JSA, how long is the work programme for?

After your assessment, which is (usually) 13 weeks into your claim.
I heard the work programme is for 2 years, but if you enter full-time employment before that you obviously don't need to go to them, but they will be there to support you for a period.0 -
^^ correct the work programme is for 2 years, if on ESA you usually go once a fortnight, for JSA it's once a week0

no one automatically gets put on the work programme when claiming ESA, it is down to the individual advisor as to whether they feel it would be beneficial.
after watching panorama this week and finding out that no blind or partially sighted people have found work through the work programme, im not suprised that my advisor hasnt yet put me on it0 -

What happens after 2 years if your still not in a job?
What happens if your on ESA but cannot walk at all? Do you still have to attend, cant they just ring you up about progress?0 -

When I went for my induction on the work programme there was a man there who was a double amputee (no legs) and he'd had a stroke so his left side was paralysed and he couldn't talk, but he could write, it was said in his ESA report that as he could write legibly he could do some kind of work.
Not being able to walk wont exclude you as you can push a wheel chair under a desk so would be able to do something, you can ask for phone interviews but I'm unsure of the criteria, I get phone interviews due to the fact I'm appealing being in the WRAG so that can excuse you from attending in person (in my case it did and I have read the regs and it does say you don't have to attend if you are appealing.0 -
Ps if you still haven't got work after 2 years you go back to the JCP advisor0
