Arrgh vent about selling my flat! Possibly a warning too.

    This does happen.

    I sold a flat for about £20,000 more than the valuation that the lender came up with.

    The buyer had his own separate survey done, which valued the property at the higher value, but the lender wouldn't accept this and insisted that their valuation was accurate.

    So I agreed to a lower price with the buyer and then sold them an old car worth about £500 for £20,000. We did it through the respective solicitors, with a contact to make sure there were no problems.
