By supplying hangers aren't you just adding to landfill?

Our local council insisted the ironing service I used reused its hangers......

Well, I always ask for hangers, and people are generally pretty good about it, but if they don't give me hangers, or not enough, then I supply them. I tend to use hangers that came with clothing purchases, though.

Hi, this is my first post so I hope it works!
I run a small ironing business, and I have to say that for a professional finish I supply hangers and wrap all garments (usually 3 or 4 in one bag). I get my hangers from an industrial supplier (try online search) and for £14 I get 500, but my clients give me them back to reuse, which keeps costs down. I charge per lb in weight for all ironing with free pick up and delivery on a 24 hour service. I have a supply of tefal steam generator irons at the moment, although I would buy tefal or morphy richards - don't get the kind with the water tank is accessed by a screw top as you can't refill them quickly as often as you need. I personally don't have any other equipment as I feel it isn't worth it. Just a good iron, hanging rail, hangers, wrap, trouser guards a big iron board.
    Hope this helps.

Just a thought...whether you supply hangers or recycle old ones, is it worth applying a sticker with the name of your business and a telephone number?

That way, whenever someone pulls a garment out of the wardrobe and finds it's creased, the first business they'll think of is you!
