Dispute with CSL

Hoping someone could help please
Received sofa of CSL three weeks ago and the arm has collapsed, i rang them up and they sent a tech guy out to inspect and to see what could be done. He then told me the joiners who made the frame hadn't aessembled it properly at the warehouse and thats why it collapsed.
He offerd to repair it to which i refused to on the basis that i didn't want a repaired sofa because i paid alot of money for it and didn't expect it to last only three weeks and i want a replacement.
CSL rang me yesterday to resolve the matter and practically told me i have no rights and that i have to have it repaired and they will not be replacing it, so i refused again.
Are they right that i have to have it repaired or can i tell them to take it away and cancel the agreement ?
This is what it states on there website -
Goods available for delivery after 4 weeks:
These goods are made to order and you have no statutory right to return them, unless they have a defect.
If we agree to cancel your contract and your goods are available for delivery after 4 weeks from the time we confirmed your order by email, you would be required to pay a standard fee which is 30% of the total order value.
For goods ordered in store
Goods available for delivery on any timescale:
These goods have been confirmed in a contract between yourself and CSL and you have no statutory right to return them unless they have a defect.
If you wish to cancel your order completely and this is agreed by CSL, you would be required to pay a standard fee which is 30% of the total order value.
Please help
Thankyou
Paul

You have a "reasonable period" in which to fully accept an item is free of faults and conforms to contract during which you can reject for a full refund.
Outside this period the seller can offer a remedy of repair, replacement and refund (possibly partial). Whilst you can ask for a specific remedy you can't insist, however the remedy must be carried out, again within a reasonable period and without causing significant inconvenience.0 -
I took delivery of a leather sofa yesterday which has cost over 2000 the leather is scuffed and scratches on the other sofa. The delivery guys were ok but the suite is not up to standard from csl. What chances do I havein getting my money back!0

You should really start your own thread rather than hijacking this one..
If you noticed it was scratched and scuffed why did you accept delivery in the 1st place.?????????????0 -
Get Trading Standards involved.
We had a similar problem with a sofa from them which had a clearly visible stiching fault and one of the seats was visibly lower. They insisted on repairing it (twice) and it ended up worse, so after they insisted on repairing it again we referred it to Trading Standards. The lady there was brilliant and longstoryshort etc we got a replacement, which has nothing at all wrong with it, so they can make an OK settee if they want to.
The whole plarver took nearly a year though.Out on blue six..
It's Chips and Jackets, Peas and Trousers.0
