Problem is the Skyline R32 is too old to wear that plate. I guess someone might stick it on a Golf R32 though?

    YEAHHH perhaps..

I'm gutted and surprised that I missed out on it and it went for 700.

Though in a way, I am glad I didn't get it, 700 plus fees, another 500 is just madness.

I wonder how much it could go for if winner were want to sell it. Alot of people with cash was in this auction, perhaps a lot of them didn't feel it was worth much..

well the CAR bit is a bit bland.. if it were something like R32 DUB it would probably go for silly money.

Only time I ever bid on one of these was after spending 2 years nagging to DVLA to issue it in the first place, PWN 3D.. Ended up going for 4 grand which was way more than I was prepared to pay.

Some crazy money being blown on personalised number plates... I just don't see the logic!
  • Depends how much you're prepared to pay for vanity, to some its worth it to others its just throwing money away for no benefits, or more money than sense.

Someone in the family has a personal plate, its a pain in the neck, every time another car is bought there's another £80 plus hassle to transfer.

I think number plates are far too over rated.

People moan about fines for this and that but will happily give the DVLA £80 to swap the reg over on some paperwork.

Mate worked it out its cost him just over £3000 buying the plates and swapping them over when he changes his car. Which he does quite often.

Not forgetting the tickets for having illegal spacing on them.

I actually had a perfectly valid reason for wanting a personalised plate.

At the time I was using my own car for business purposes, it was 2006 and it was on a V plate (1999). the boss was getting a bit unhappy about this because the car was "old". I invited him to actually look at the car and tell me if it looked like a 7 year old banger. He agreed that it did not and after me poking him in the correct direction with some leading questions admitted that the only problem he had was the V reg.

£400 on a personalised plate later and I got to continue to use that car and avoided the need to buy or lease a newer one at my own expense.

My father used to have one and attempted to justify it as a donation to the government and an investment.

He later lost it by selling a car with it on to someone abroad. :rotfl:
