Seems The "noscript" plugin is getting updated every couple of days,

An advertising ploy perhaps?

Are there any other decent noscript type plugins about for Firefox?

Noscript is a bolt on for Firefox that blocks potentially dodgy scripts from executing and doing naughty things on your PC

Its been updated a couple of times in the past week or so, i guess that is what the OP is referring to.

    More about it here

This really does irritate me...please post in the right forum. Only takes a second to look at the board title before posting.

I installed and every single page I visited wasnt loaded. Uninstalled straight away.

My adons are download manager, adblock plus, ie tab. the adblock is too fabolous.
Save saynoto0870.com in your favorites, and stop giving companies more £££ dialling 0870 numbers when you can dial freephones or cheaper alternatives
call your credit card company, tell them that you want to leave, 99% of the time theyll lower your APR%
Remember when that Bank Manager or Salesperson smiles at you, all he sees is £ notes. Dont forget the motto, "the wider their grin, the more debt your in"

If there's any form of JavaScript you need to allow it by clicking on NoScript. Annoying at first, but it learns over time, and any new sites you just get used to clicking to allow it.

As to this being too much that depends upon the user. I personally like it as I know what's going on, although it is becoming more annoying due more and more AJAX based (JavaScript) sites popping up.
