Hi all
Bought a Rosemary bush from Aldi.
Label says sunny position.
Water but don't waterlog.
Been on internet to see if should be outside or in.
Says either. Has been in for a couple of weeks, slight wilting.
Had it outside the back door today, much more wilting!
Any advice would be much appreciated!
Thanks

It might be pot bound (roots filling the pot). Did you repot? Generally rosemary is hardy, and likes being outside, although I'm not sure if the sudden transition from a warm room to outside would shock it. I planted some plants in the garden and left one in a pot outside. The planted ones are much much healthier and larger.Warning: This forum may contain nuts.0

Thanks for that! I'll repot this afternoon and see how we go.0

I've got some potted ones I grew from seed 4-5 years ago and I usually put a couple in cold greenhouse just in case, but the rest are left outside in containers in a sunny position overwinter.
As Leif says, you'd need to harden it off before leaving it out.
As it will probably have a lot of soft growth, I'd be inclined to re-pot and put it in a cool, bright place, then harden it off in Spring."We could say the government spends like drunken sailors, but that would be unfair to drunken sailors, because the sailors are spending their own money."

Thanks again.
It was re potted this afternoon. Do you think it would be ok if I put it in the conservatory to stert with? It is not heated.0 -
Sorry! Make that 'start!'0

It should do well in the conservatory and then plant out in the spring, it should then survive really well in the garden. I have two that plants that are looking really good in the front garden and one in the back garden which is looking a bit marginal.0

Thank you so much to all of you!
Can I ask as a final one?
Have you planted them in the garden in soil in the garden or left them in a pot?
This stands around a foot tall and is at the top of a stem.0 -
You can do either - fine in the garden soil if reasonably well drained, though they are EQUALLY happy in a big pot if that suits you better . My current one is in a big pot.
They like a sunny position
