We've currently got 3 on our bed, 1 on top of the wardrobe, 2 in the livingroom, 1 in a nest of plastic bags in the pantry, 1 on a second sofa and 1 whereabouts unknown outside. No way would any of them touch a catbed. I chuck them all out of the bedroom at night and they turn the house into a warzone.

Our cat has a bed - anywhere he wants to sleep!

Mostly though on any newspaper left lying around, in any box (how does a cat that takes up most of the sofa fit in a box that is tiny??), on the sofa, on any of my kids' beds - o and on any clean washing.

He was a stray we found as a kitten, either dumped or had wandered off near the river. He was so tiny he fit in my hand - two years later he takes up two cushions on the sofa and has enough attitude that attempting to get him to sleep anywhere he doesn't want to is sooo not going to work!

  • My cat had an igloo bed and a radiator bed and hated both. She took a liking to my knitting basket at one point, so I made that her bed, she hates that too now. My field spaniel however, has been known to try and squeeze his bum into the knitting basket...it's hilarious, if I can work out how to post photos I will.

    My cats have several beds.
An igloo, a doughnut a tree house one and one that is like a small dog bed.

They use all of them. It doesn't stop them sleeping on my bed occasionally but they tend to stick to their beds.

  • Thanks everyone, I dont feel bad now. My Puss has plenty of nice places to sleep including my lap whenever Im at home. Ive never had a cat before and just felt bad she didnt have an actual cat bed of her own. I saw the ikea bed in the other thread, its so funny i might have to get her one of those, though whether she will sleep on it is another matter!

Does our cat have a bed? Yes, it's a double bed with a kingsize quilt .... Occasionally he deigns to share it with us overnight, but isn't very generous with the space :D

My Mum's cat does actually have a double bed to himself (in the guest room), but he still has to sleep on a blanket in the kitchen overnight, so he's not too spoilt.

Our three are far too particular to sleep in their cat beds! Favourite place is our water bed because it is heated. They broke two mattresses by jumping on them to chase the water whilst I left them uncovered whilst getting clean linen from down the hall!! So we had to buy another mattress which is more conventional in appearance and protected from cat claws!!

They also like to sleep on the bath mat because the bathroom floor has underfloor heating! They're not just any old cats you know!!:rotfl:

My cats have some of the tall scratchy posts with perches on the top which they like ( in the living room and bedroom)

They also sleep on the back of the sofas, the dining table chairs, the bed, the clean washing! Basically wherever they want to!

At the moment one is in oh's clean washing, one is asleep in the bottom of the wardrobe and ones beside me on the sofa.
  • One of the cats sleeps overnight at the back of the fridge on a blanket, I have towels on top of the tumbler for another cat . Harry , who came to live with us last year came with his soft cat bed and he sleeps in it overnight in the kitchen . In the day they sleep on the bed , beside a radiator or anywhere they like . I make use of old towels , cushions, throws and sweaters that no one could use for them to sleep on . They seem comfy enough !
