The paragraph reference probably refers to Queens Regulations for the Army. I am not sure where you can view this.
The RN version is here but I would think the discharge reasons are common across all services

Why dont you ask your partner?
  • He doesnt know which is the reason I posted my question
  • From Army QRs:

5.071. No member of the Regular Army is permitted without the express permission of the Defence Council to take
official cognisance of or to assist officially any private association that is not recognized by the Defence Councils as
forming part of the Army or of the educational and training establishments supplementary thereto.

That doesnt sound at all like a reason for discharge. Para 9.071 is where the Terms of Service start, but there are many sub-paras, so you will have to be more specific if you want an exact definition.

I'm sorry but, if you were told you were effectively 'losing' your job (being discharged), you would be told fully the reasons why and if you didn't understand, why didn't you ask there and then.........not 20 years later?
  • Sorry but at the time he wasnt 'fit' to understand what was happening. Thanks everyone who tried to help me,its really appreciated.
  • Hi there, just thought I would give you some possible help. Round about 1993 the army had made some major redundancies, so it may be due to that, also the paragraph that you quoted could be almost anything. I suspect it would be to do with the armed forces redundcies scheme.
