The person who agreed to go and then changed her mind should still pay you or pay for the name change, whichever is the cheapest.

Most main tour ops still charge about £35 for name change. Low cost tend to be more because aswell as the name change, you have to pay any difference in fare from time of booking to time of name change. So, low cost ends up not being low cost at all.

If you want to change a name, that is. I take it most people travelling are the one's that were originally booked.

BA (and many other "full service" airlines) do not allow name changes on their non flex tickets, which actually makes the LCCs look quite generous in comparison.

It's not a "name change", it's a person change. A name change is changing "Eddie" to "Edward" not Mr J Smith to Miss K Jones.

Except you can simply cash it in and rebook. Yes, the price might have changed, but in the case of full price Y class ticket, probably won't have.

Probably obvious but, my son has organised holidays for a group of friends for some years.
In all that time he has followed the same rules
No cash upfront no booking
"This is the best flight to get there, book it yourself!"
