I'm a first time buyer, viewed a property on Monday with the agent and one other buyer which was fine. Property was vacant. Tomorrow I have 6 viewings, the first with agent, the other 5 are with the vendors. Is there anything I should be looking out for or asking? Or should avoid for that matter? I'm quite nervous about it and it feels like I will be intruding although I know they are probably used to it.

You are about to make the decision to part with a serious amount of cash. We need to be sure that there are going to be no hidden surprises when you move in. Obviously within reason I would say there are no questions that you should be able to ask and no where you should be afraid to look,
I would make sure you ask about and look at the boiler and electrics. when where they both last replaced?
Ask about neighbours. Have they made any complaints to the police?
Check if any extensions or conversions have proper building regulations.
One more for an agent:
How long has the house been on the market? have there been any price reductions. Is the vendor open to offers?
When you have narrowed it done to one you are interested in you can always post on here for a 2nd opinion before you carry out a 2nd viewingNow buying our second house:

Limit your first viewing to you plus one other .. There is nothing worse than an enterage of mum dad aunts kids etc trying to squash into a bathroom
There is always opportunity to take others for subsequent viewings0 -
Thanks everyone, I'm buying by myself, no family. Will be taking my sister-in-law to a few of them. She knows the area quite well and has been through the house buying process before.Starting mortgage balance 22/04/2013 £71,250

It's probably best not to stub cigarettes out on their carpet. Nor to walk dogs mess all through their house, nor say about their elderly mother, "here the old lady smells of wee". Try and avoid breaking wind while grimacing and picking your nose while saying "just looking for the nutty ones".Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

6 is a lot in one day, especially if you need to keep a schedule as rule 1 is be on time. Rule 2 dont take a shower

Otherwise be complimentary and offer to remove shoes."enough is a feast"...old Buddist proverb0 -
I only requested to see one but the agent suggested I take a quick look at some others in the vicinity.Starting mortgage balance 22/04/2013 £71,250

Also ask if it's ok before opening cupboards, although I don't tend to open any on the first viewing.
If you're viewing six, take a little notebook and make notes about each one as you view to remind yourself.
It's amazing how quickly properties all start blurring into one when you're looking at loads.0
