Hi
Please could someone help me?
I have just received a letter with an interview for BA Hon Social Work Degree (undergraduate) Interview it is in March at Salford University
Do I need to apply for Student Finance now although I have not got a place? The NHS website says something about a deadline for NHS Bursary’s on 28th February???
Would that be for 2013/ 2014 Finance year?
Also I have tried finding out about the changes for NHS Bursary2013 and can’t really find a clear answer.
I have two young children and work Part Time. Hubby worksFull time. Household income under £30,000 and were wondering what financesupport I will receive and Do NHS still pay for Tuition fees?
Sorry about all the questions. I panicked when I saw theFeb deadline for NHS bursary.
I really don’t know where to start apart from the obvious revising for interview lol!
Thanks in advance

for the BA / BSC my understanding is that first years will not get the bursary (you'll get it in 2nd and 3rd year)...
apply as soon as you like for finance - they won't release it until a university has registered you (within the first few days you they have to tick an electronic box to say you're there).
as far as I am aware the NHS have never paid the fees for social workers. you will if you meet the criteria get a student loan for these though.

http://www.communitycare.co.uk/blogs/social-work-blog/2011/04/future-funding-of-social-work.html information on fees...
I'd recommend doing some research on what they may ask you at the interview interviews for social work are really competitive.
Look for buzz words, and know what they are about - the better your grounding in information, the better you will do in getting accepted in the interview, and the better you will do in your first year...
It is really hard work, and even people who had a great grounding on my course are struggling.

I think the Feb deadline is for students already enrolled on the course from last September...

As a social work student, you have to apply for tuition fee loan through Student finance.
The bursary is paid by the NHS but tbh with your household income, don't expect it to be much. My OH earns £15k and i don't get the full bursary
As already said, you don't get any bursary in year 1, just years 2 & 30
