Stream music to PS3 from my computer/cloud

My PC runs windows 7 and windows media player 12.

I've tried to set up a home group, but although the PS3 can 'see' my computer, when I click on the icon, the PS3 says that it has not been given permission to access the group.

The PS3 can see two media players, I assume one is the network access to the internet and the other is the home group.

I went back into the home group on the pc and enabled all devices and made sure that nothing was blocked.

However, now I get a message on the PC saying 'Windows 7 cannot create a home group on this computer.'

I just want to play music through my PS3, either by a cloud, or iTunes, or my PC, or, if need be, by buying a gizmo that will enable me to do this.

Please could someone advise the best way forward (I've been trying all afternoon and feel ready to chuck my PC on the floor!)

Thank you.
