£60 for a seal? What's it made of? Solid platinum?
Who asked for the meter to be changed?
(But if a security seal is missing/broken you could be in for a load more trouble than just £60 )
Its the cost of the engineer visit, the seals a few quid, now the op needs to say why his meter was changed. Didnt their rp unit visit? Inregards to the coment abotu refussing to pay without a photo, the qualified professional witness report for the engineer would and does stand up in court.
When people have wirring jobs done, its upto them to ensure that know one acting on their behalf touches the meter without permission.Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0 -
but why, they dont normaly charge unless the main meter seal has been messed with.Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

I am puzzled by this. It looks like a try on.
If the meter was changed then all of the seals apart from the meter seal would have to be renewed anyway. So if the meter was changed for any reason other than a missing seal, the £60 charge is for unnecessary work. And if the meter was replaced for a missing seal, the appropriate price is for a meter change. You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'0 -
Great Hamster wheel, I suggested it was the Calibration Seal in post 2

they dont replace meters for seals, and what you are forgetting is that by the op having a rewire and electrician tampering in essence as they dont have permission to even touch the seals or meter their is a cost to arrange an engineer job.Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. You have no contract with them.
Why has everyone missed this ?
What are they trying to collect, a statutory charge, where is the legislation.
It is a unlawful penalty charge, the meter was been replaced, scrapped.
They were contracted by who sent them.Be happy...;)0 -

7/11 Electricity Act, also as the DNO own the equipment they can bill you for it via your supplier. The meter wouldnt of been scrapped, unless it had been tampered with and the statutory period passed.Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it.
