My net worth is held as:

    23% cash savings
    11% pension
    6% investments (shares)
    60% property

This is quite a good way to do it, so similarly - net worth (approx., excluding things)
    Cash 5%
    Investments 10%
    Property 85%
    IANAL etc.

Never thought about pensions? Apart from the (small) one that I took out when I was 18, I didn't really get involved until just over a couple of years ago aged 52.

If I get a job sometime with an employer's contribution I will, but until then the deferred tax benefits vs the loss of control make them not particularly interesting.

Yes I understand, the only reason I became interested in pensions was that I took a job in the public sector just over 2 years ago, so getting involved in the teachers pension scheme was a no brainer.
